GHANA’S Black Princesses humbled Nzalang-nacional of Equatorial Guinea 2-0 in their African preliminary Under-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, yesterday.
The Ghanaians, thus qualify on a 3-0 aggregate.
The Black Princesses recorded a 1-0 victory in the first leg in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, and with the victory, they look very set to face Ethiopia in the next round of qualifiers.
It was a beautiful afternoon of football, exhibited by both teams.
Despite the initial midfield lapses, , the Black Princesses eventually found sufficient balance to win the match.
The visitors looked dangerous anytime Maria Lucia and Ada Edu Bindang combined with Olga Mibuy Esono but their efforts were thwarted by Naomi Anima who, in spite of her height, proved a tough customer in the aerial challenges to the admiration of the fans.
Equatorial Guinea held the host, boot for boot, ending the first half goalless.
But that angered the Princesses who resumed the second half with gusto.
They needed only 14 minutes to break the deadlock when Lily Niber Lawrence jumped above her markers to head home a Naomi Anima lob.
It was a great goal by all standards.
On the stroke of full time, substitute Veronica Appiah made it two when she coolly connected a pass from Adubea Princella.
