Bisah aims high

Bisah pixGold medalist, Martha Bisah is gunning to beat off stiff competition from Asamoah Gyan, judoka Razak Abugri and Patrick Allotey to emerge the Sports Personality of the year in the maiden edition of the Ghana Sports Excellence Awards.

The 18-year-old, who won gold at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, made it a double with the Best Female Athlete on the night.

Exhilarated Bisah disclosed to Times Sports that she has already started training for several competitions in 2015.

She stated that, she would make the nation proud by winning more medals in future competitions.

“I am training very hard and determined to win more medals for the country with the World Junior Championship as my main focus,” she stated.

Other awards on the night include, Best Male Athlete- Razak Abugri, Best Security Services — Ghana Military Police, Best Supporters Group-Die Hard and Best Sporting Club went to Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The rest were, Best Sponsor-First Capital Plus Bank, Best Team-Local Black Stars, Best School Sport Contributor-Barclays Bank and Best Sport Brand-Puma.
