Bibiani Police investigate murder of boy,15years

The Sefwi Bibiani Police has launched investigations into the alleged murder of a 15-year old boy on Friday at Sefwi Anhwiaso in the Western Region.

The boy, a class two pupil, was found dead with a rope around his neck tied to tree, but the police have ruled out suicide, indicating that the boy was murdered.

According to the Sefwi Bibiani Police, preliminary investigations show that the boy was murdered before being tied with the rope for the killing to appear as suicide.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Prosper Gbagbo, the Sefwi Bibiani Divisional Crime Officer, told the Ghanaian Times on Saturday the lifeless body of the boy was found around noon on Friday tied to a tree on a poultry farm, on the outskirts of Anhwiaso,

“There was no knot at the back of the neck and he was also found kneeling,” he said, stressing that “this is not probable a suicide by hanging”.

He said the killer(s) used a collection of polythene materials (pure water bags) which they joined and used to tie around the neck.

“Clearly the body of the victim was kneeling and that doesn’t happen in suicide cases. He was killed before he was hanged,” the Divisional Crime Officer maintained.

He said the body had been deposited at the Sefwi Bibiani Government Hospital for post mortem.
