The only female contender for the position of National Chairman is being shown signs of victory ahead of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s national executive election on November 17.

Some constituency executives of the party are assuring her of their votes because she has the vote of majority of delegates and her victory will be mega.

A news conference was held purposely to announce their support for Mrs. Mould-Iddrisu and called on their colleagues sitting on the fence to throw their weight behind her to regain power in 2020.

According to them, among others, the former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice and Minister of Education has sacrificed for the party over the years, including resigning her post over the Woyome scandal so that the NDC government led by then late President Atta Mills can operate without her as baggage, and which has earned her the appreciation of executives.

They claimed that Mrs. Mould-Iddrisu’s resignation shifted the blame from the late President Mills and focused on herself, a mark of a good leader.

“We believe that the bold sacrifice that she made for NDC, tells of her character as someone who can sacrifice for the party,” James Enu, a member of Tema West Constituency said, adding that “such sacrificial selflessness is a lacking quality in the party whose executives and grassroot members have still not gotten over neglect they suffered when their party was in power for eight years.”

Another member of the constituency, Felicia Nukpeta, for her part, noted that “one important reason why Mrs. Mould-Iddrisu is the right choice is her gender, if we elect her as chairperson, we will make history for ourselves, the party and I will entreat us to make history with massive support for Mrs. Mould-Iddrisu across the country for her victory to be mega towards the 2020 elections,” she stressed. -GNA
