Better times ahead—MCE

Opoku Boakye–Yiadom, Berekum Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has assured Ghanaians to expect progress and development this year.

He said given the current economic indicators, such as reduction in petroleum prices on the world market, stabilisation of the cedi, and other government interventions the future looks very bright for the nation.

Mr. Boakye–Yiadom gave the assurance in an interaction with the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani, on Tuesday.

He urged Ghanaians to unite and work hard in their various fields of endeavours to ensure progress and prosperity.

The MCE said if students learned hard at school and parents performed their responsibilities effectively while workers worked with total commitment and the government met its obligation to the citizenry, there was no way the nation could fail to progress.

He urged the people to pray fervently for the leadership of the nation,  to enable them obtain divine direction to prosecute the national development agenda effectively.

Mr Boakye-Yiadom asked Ghanaians to be thankful to God always for the prevailing peace and tranquility, which were essential for nation-building and called for concerted efforts to preserve them.
