Victor Valdes’ proposed move to Besiktas is off after the club’s manager Senol Gunes decided to pull the plug on the deal.
Talks have been ongoing since last week with a deal close to agreement and the Manchester United goalkeeper poised to fly to Turkey yesterday.
However, Gunes has decided he does not wish to change his goalkeeper and has brought a halt to negotiations.
Valdes’ terms were understood to be an obstacle for Besiktas’ budget and they tried to change terms on the initial agreement.
The 33-year-old still has other offers to consider.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, are still to make a bid for David de Gea. The Spanish window closes at 23.59 today.
The Turkish side had offered the Spaniard a two-year contract with the option of a third year as the Spaniard seeks to put an end.
The 33-year-old was training at United’s Carrington training centre on Tuesday along with David de Gea.
