Berock Ventures Ltd., a leading indigenous construc-tion company, swept four awards including the Construction Company of the Year, at the Ghana Construction Awards held over the weekend.
Its Executive Chairman and Founder, Rockson Kwesi Dogbegah received the Lifetime Achievement Award for starting and growing the company, as well as being a strong advocate for the industry.
The Ghana Construction Awards, organised by Instinct Wave, a marketing and solutions firm, is to celebrate success within the industry and to challenge players to aspire to greater heights.
Berock Ventures also won the Building Project of the Year with the construction of office and scanner block for Gateway Services Ltd.
The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Courage Dogbegah was adjudged the Construction CEO of the Year.
The company was also nominated in three other categories.
Commenting on the awards, the Executive Chairman, Mr. Dogbegah, who is also the Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Building in Africa, recounted the difficult beginnings and said it was the determination to succeed that has brought the company this far.
He said the performance of various indigenous construction companies, demonstrates that there is enough expertise in the local market to take on the country’s infrastructure projects. He therefore urged both government and private sector to entrust more projects into the hands of Ghanaian players.
Berock Ventures, which has been undertaking major projects in the country, including the first national ICT Park, the Upper East Regional Hospital, the Civil Aviation Training Centre, and many others, also won awards at the Ghana Property Awards held earlier in November, while the Ghana Institute of Construction which at a separate event held theirs recently, recognised Mr. Dogbegah and others for contributing to the growth of the industry.
