An Accra Circuit Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of a businessman who allegedly swindled another businessman of GH¢52,150 in Accra.

Gilbert Dodoo Harrison was allegedly supplied with baby products by the victim, Djenge Davies Bortieh, the Chief Executive of Djengevies Enterprise Limited and later bolted.

A reliable source at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) confirmed the story to The Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday.

The source said on May 23, 2014, Bortieh, the complainant in the case, supplied the suspect with Bibish diapers and wipes products worth GH¢52,150 upon request by the suspect.

According to the police source, Harrison upon receipt of the products, made part payment for GH¢4,000 and subsequently issued cheques for GH¢10,000 and GH¢20,000 in the name of the complainant’s company to be cashed four days later.

The source said when Mr. Bortieh presented the cheques to the bank, they were dishonoured and a report was made at the police station.
