The ongoing Community Basketball League last Saturday received a major boost with Rush Energy Drink officially outdoored as the main sponsor of the event.
The Rush Community Basketball League would now have a year’s renewable sponsorship with Rush as well as other entertaining packages initiated by the outfit to sustain the league.
Marketing Director of Twellium Industrial Company Limited, producers of Rush, Ali Ajani, stated that the outfit was committed to promoting good initiatives by Ghanaians, especially in sports.
“We are delighted to be part of the maiden community basketball league as we hope to support the youth and the community with the yearly sponsorship,” he stated.
He added that they could relate to the passion displayed by Ghanaians and proud to be in the country to help individuals showcase their potential and also develop sports and the economy as a whole.
Adding her voice, Emelia Gyasi of Rush, also pledged the outfit’s commitment to sustaining the event and making it bigger in coming years.
All the teams, she said, have displayed great skills and determination and the outfit would support them to become champions and make the event successful.
Week three of the event saw some interesting games with Teshie beating Cape Coast Bears 78-70, while the game of the day had Nima Vipers and Tema Sharks entertaining patrons to an amazing showdown.
The entertainment element was not left in the games as VVIP stormed to venue the support the Nima team alongside some great female dancers who kept the audience on their feet.
Ten teams are competing in the event for the ultimate prize of $3,000 as the league is scheduled to be completed in December.
