Basic soccer coaching course 2 ends at NSC

PictureThe second edition of the Basic Soccer Coaching Course has ended at the National Sports College (NSC), Winneba.

The one-week course drew about 35 participants from the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDA’s) throughout the country.

Dr. J.A Baba, a former Director of the College and the immediate past Head of the Department for Health, Physical Education Recreation and Sports (HPERS) of the University of Education-Winneba was the special guest of honour.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Dr. Baba commended management of the NSC for the initiative and implored the various MMDA’s to invest funds allocated for sports into sports development and entreated the participants to make use of the knowledge they have acquired to help develop soccer from the grassroots as is the aim for the course.

He urged the participants to coach with passion saying “If you coach without passion, nothing will come out of it.”

Director for the Sports College, Mr. Erasmus Adorkor expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development for the collaboration and took the opportunity to appeal to other MMDA’s who are yet to sponsor their participants to do so in subsequent ones.

Also present at the closing ceremony were Coach Adusei, a CAF instructor, Coach Oti Akenteng, CAF Instructor and Technical Director for the GFA and Coach for the Black Satellites, Didi Dramani who were instructors for the course.

Participants were each presented with certificates of participation.
