The Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIB) over the weekend climaxed its ‘Bankers Homecoming’ celebration with an Onga cooking competition which saw males displaying their cooking skills to the admiration of their partners and friends.

At the end, two final-year students of Banking and Finance from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Ernest Okyere and Alfred Boadu Solomon emerged winners.

Their group, called Face My Wall, thrilled the judges with Abom, Kotomire Stew and Yam.

They took home hampers from Onga, cash prize of GH¢500 worth of Spa treatment, as well as other attractive products from other sponsors.

The second position was taken by Ratsu Kitchen, a group consisting of Samuel Adu Baah and Questus Quartey from GCB Bank, which prepared vegetable stew with rice.

For their efforts, they received products from Onga, GHC400 worth of Spa treatment and other attractive prizes from organisers, while the third position went to Katanga Kitchen which displayed skills at preparing Apem and Kontomire Stew.

The group, represented by Theo Apedo and Solomon Aduachie, also took home products from Onga and GHC300 worth of spa treatment.

The Onga cooking competition was preceded by a Health Walk which sought to bring members nationwide, together as part of this year’s Bankers Week Celebrations.

Sponsored by Cowbell, the participants walked through the streets of Legon and its surrounding areas before engaging in aerobics.

Events representative of Onga, Rapheal Awaku, said it was part of the outfit’s corporate social responsibity and aimed at supporting the CIB for a successful event.
