Nii Tackie Obil II, popularly known as Ayitey Canada, one of the contestants of the Ga Mantse has passed away at his residence in Accra.
The late Obil, who had been a contender to the Ga stool for almost 12 years, died on Saturday October 8 between 4 and 5 am . He was 63.
Speaking at a press conference to announce his death, the Stool Father, Nii Osiahene IV of the Abola Piame Stool of the Ga State, said the family was yet to establish what caused the death of the late chief.
He said the late Obil has been given a befitting burial as tradition demands, due to his affiliation with the Islamic religion.
Nii Osiahene noted that the family had appointed Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka I, Obilieman Mantse to act on behalf of the family.
