Atebubu Amantin Municipality gets NHIS building

A new office complex has been constructed for the Atebubu Amantin Municipal National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in the Bono East Region, to facilitate access to healthcare delivery.

The project, funded through the assembly’s internally generated fund (IGF), has offices and other ancillary facilities.

For the past fifteen years the Atebubu Amantin Municipal NHIS has been operating in a rented house with limited space to accommodate personnel of the scheme.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghanaian Times at Atebubu on Monday, the Municipal Manager of the Scheme, Mr Kwesi Alhassan, said additional 100-acre land had been acquired for expansion work.

He said that the scheme recorded a membership of 44,798 as against 53,000, target, representing an achievement of 84 per cent.

Mr Alhassan commended the assembly for using the IGF to fund the office complex project.
