Assin North NDC Elects New Executives

The Assin North constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has re-elected Felix Benefoh, a 32-year- old business man, as the chairman for another four-year term.

He polled 198 votes out of the valid votes cast to beat his contestant Mr. Francis Dominic Amah who obtained 107 votes, in an election conducted and supervised by officials from the Assin North District Directorate of the Electoral Commission.

Other executives elected were Haruna Ali, vice chairman, who polled 154 against 153 votes obtained by  Aquarius Opam Marnah, Samuel Kofi Anyrator, secretary, polled 151 to beat his contestant, who had 125 votes, Isaac Kwame Eduku, organiser polled 200 votes, Francis Bright Ativi, youth organiser polled 35 votes to beat, Thomas Owusu Aturo who obtained 33 votes.

The rest were Madam Comfort Akomeni, (incumbent) polled 47 votes to beat her Deputy Women’s Organiser Shirley Assan who had 27 votes, Gifty Oforiwaa Quansah, deputy women’s organizser polled 45 votes, Martin Addo, Treasurer, obtained 154 votes against 152 votes polled by Barima Kwame Nkyi-poku, Patrick Offei Asare, deputy propaganda secretary, polled 222 votes.

Others are Martin Apaah Hinneh, deputy secretary, Stephen Asamoa, deputy organiser,  David Smart Nkansah, deputy treasurer and Edward Fireson propaganda secretary, were elected unopposed.

Mr. Benefoh thanked the delegates and they would not abuse the confidence reposed in them.
