LEAGUE leaders Ashantigold had to fight back to earn a point in their First Capital Plus Premier League Match day 28 game against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park on Saturday.
Striker Emmanuel Osei converted a 78th minute penalty to give the Miners a share of the spoils and open a four-point lead.
It was the visitors who struck first on eight minutes when Osei was felled inside the box by stand-in captain Bennett Ofori when he was put through clear on goal.
AshantiGold’s Yakubu Mohammed picked up the ball and shot powerfully to the bottom corner.
But the Blues recovered beautifully and the club’s top scorer Kofi Owusu snatched the leveller with a blistering header.
