Theodore Asampong emerged the winner of the MTN CEO Invitational golf tournament which came off at the Celebrity Golf Club at Sakumono in Accra on Friday.

Asampong recorded an incredible 32 points to win the highly competitive Men’s Group A event to walk away with the trophy and other attractive prizes from sponsors.

He was followed closely by Geoffrey Avornyotse who recorded 31 points to clinch the second position while Innocent Wayne came third with 30 points.

In the Men Group B event, Augustine Mensah-Hohoayi won with 35 points. He was followed in second and third positions by Mark Peverett and Oswald Amuzu respectively with 34 and 33 points.

Agnes Adams stole the show in the Ladies event after recording an amazing 37 points to emerge winner.

The second position was taken by Vida Anang with 34 points and Helen Appah in third with 33 points.

For the seniors’ event, Joseph Dadson won with a score of 32 while Kwaku Okyere came second with 29 points.

In his speech, Board Chairman for MTN, Dr Ishmael Yawson congratulated the golfers for a sterling job, adding that, they deserved commendations.

The tournament he said, gave patrons the opportunity to engage, network, forge stronger relationships and enjoy their favourite game.

“One of our primary goals when we developed the concept of the invitational golf tournament was to foster cordial relationship with our key stakeholders – the gradual acceptance and increase in participation by those who matter in the business space is a testament to the critical role these invitational tournaments play in the business sector, “he stated.

MTN, he said, was committed to developing the sport in the country and also providing the opportunity to cherished customers to exercise and interact within a very cordial atmosphere.
