OLE Gunnar Solskjær suffered his first Premier League defeat as Manchester United manager after Arsenal beat the Red Devils 2-0 at the Emirates yesterday.
Unai Emery’s men took an early lead through Granit Xhaka, whose first-half strike benefited from a wrong-footed David de Gea.
While United tried to come back into the match, the Red Devils were dealt a major blow when they conceded a penalty in the second half.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang stepped up and slotted the ball past de Gea, sealing an important three points at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners have climbed above United in the table to fourth and are one point behind Tottenham Hotspur, following on from their shock 2-1 defeat to Southampton on Saturday.
Meanwhle, Eden Hazard rescued a late point for Chelsea against Wolves at Stamford Bridge yesterday with a stunning low strike.
Chelsea started the match hoping to close the gap on Arsenal and Manchester United, with only a remote chance of staying in fourth if they pulled off a huge win.
Wolves were one place behind Chelsea but 13 points behind the Londoners, and they came ready to defend. Maurizio Sarri kept Callum Hudson-Odoi on the bench, and the first half was stultifyingly dull, with barely a chance created.
In the second half, Raul Jimenez completed a Wolves counter to put the away side ahead, forcing Sarri into changes as he introduced first Ruben Loftus-Cheek and then Hudson-Odoi.
With the game running away from them, Chelsea swapped Jorginho for Willian which drew cheers from the crowd.
All appeared lost for the Blues until Hazard stepped up with a brilliant drive from outside the box to rescue a point, leaving them in sixth. – Eurosport
