Armed robbers raid Everton player’s home

Raid 2EVERTON midfielder Tom Cleverley and his young family were threatened with baseball bats in a £175,000 raid on his Manchester mansion by armed robbers.

The England international and his reality TV star wife Georgina Dorsett had designer handbags, watches and jewellery stolen, as well as two £50,000 Range Rovers, in the raid which occurred as they spent a night in with their two-year-old daughter.

Cleverley, 26, was unhurt but he and his wife, 29, are reported to be ‘shaken’ after thugs wielded baseball bats and an extendable baton at their £3.5million home.

The robbers are reported to have stolen a £15,000 Carter bracelet, a £10,000 Hermes Birkin handbag and an Audemars Piguet watch valued at £50,000 before taking the keys to two cars at the gated property.

A source told The Sun’s Guy Patrick and Richard Moriarty: “Tom and Georgina weren’t physically hurt but it was a horrific ordeal for them, especially as their little girl was with them. The only thing in their minds was protecting her.”

“This was a very, very nasty incident and the couple have been shaken beyond belief.”

The source added that the couple appeared to have been targeted ‘due to their wealth’ and that Dorsett had been left ‘properly spooked’ by the incident which occurred at around 8pm on Friday evening.

Greater Manchester Police said it was now investigating the raid.

A spokesman for the force said: “Officers attended and discovered a man, a woman and an infant who had been the victims of an aggravated burglary.

“None of the victims were injured. An investigation was subsequently launched and is on-going.” — Mailonline
