SEVEN armed robbers stormed a household at Agbozume Zongo in the Ketu South Municipality at about 1.30 am yesterday, and shot two men before making away with an undisclosed amount of money.
One of the gunshot victims, whose name was given by the police as Umaru, was rushed to the Ketu South Municipal Hospital in Aflao, but died on arrival from bullet wounds he sustained in his thigh and chest.
The Agbozume District Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Moses Naa-Kolgo, who confirmed these to the Ghanaian Times on phone said that the deceased was 33 years old.
According to the District Police Commander, the other gunshot victim, Bubey Seidu, 56, is on admission at the same hospital.
ASP Naa-Kolgo said that the police responded to SOS calls from the household, but the gangers fled the scene before the police arrived there.
“It is believed that the robbers traced Bubey from Aflao, where he works as a money changer, to the Zongo at Agbozume”, ASP Naa-Kolgo added.
He said that a search had been mounted for the robbers.
