PTwenty young girls from the Ashiedu Keteke Sub-Metro, Accra, on Thursday attended skills training workshop as part of activities to mark International Women’s Day.
It was organised by the Alliance for Reproductive Health Rights (ARHR), a non-governmental organisation, on the theme: “Balance for Better-Equipping girls with skills to succeed”.
It was aimed at building confidence, workable skills and instilling good health techniques in young women.
Alliance for Reproductive Health Rights (ARHR) is an NGO with a focus on women, children and adolescents health advocacy.
Madam Karikari added that although this was the first workshop of its kind to be organised by the Alliance, the group would hold follow-up exercises to ensure that the young girls got adequate help to aid them in their respective careers.
Led by Mr Francis Oko Armah, a youth activist, the participants were taken through an interactive session where they learnt how to be confident in themselves and in the skills they possess.
They also received knowledge on how to improve upon their weaknesses and how to face-off the challenges they may face in society and how to set goals and motivate themselves.
Ms Naomi Amoako, a member of the Alliance and a participant at the workshop said the workshop helped her gain confidence and raised her self-esteem.
