A 17-year-old Level 100 Oil and Gas student of the All Nations University main campus in Koforidua, Darlington Fuanchie died yesterday, when he reportedly fell from the first floor of the story building where he was standing.
The body which was found behind the school hostel, has been deposited at the Koforidua Regional Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.
In an interview with the Public Relations Officer of the school, Mr. Owusu Acheamfour, he said the management of the school had a call from its security at about 9:15 a.m. yesterday,that a lifeless body had been found behind the school hostel.
He said the police were informed and they called with an ambulance to convey the body to the hospital.
He said Darlington was confirmed dead by the doctors about 30 minutes on arrival at the hospital.
He told The Ghanaian Times that Darlington was a Ghanaian and lived at Asylum Down in Accra.
He said the circumstances surrounding the death of the student were mysterious, adding that management had urged the police to investigate the matter and denied media reports that the student had fallen from the first floor where some of his colleagues claimed he stood.
When The Ghanaian Times approached the police who were at the scene conducting investigations, they declined to comment on the issue until they complete their investigations.
