A TWO-STOREY office block for the Anlo Rural Bank, in the Municipality, was opened at Anloga on Saturday.
The ground floor is the banking hall, while the other floors are meant for offices, with a conference hall attached.
The project, which was completed within two years, was financed from the bank’s own resources.
The Awomefia of Anlo, Togbui Sri III, who spoke at the ceremony, commended the bank for rekindling the spirit of banking in the people.
He commended the past and present directors of the bank whose sacrifices had brought the bank this far and urged them to continue to promote the spirit of saving in the people.
“You must all go and demonstrate to the people that this magnificent structure has come to prove a point through diversifying your operations,” he said.
Togbui Sri, who laid the foundation brick for the commencement of the project two years ago, urged the residents to continue saving at the bank to justify the putting up of the building.
The Head, Other Financial Institutions Supervision Department of the Bank of Ghana, Mr Raymond Amanfu, urged the management to allow the edifice to remind them of their commitment to the area.
He urged the directors and shareholders of the bank to consider social interventions such as education and health for the benefit.
The Deputy Managing Director, ARB Apex Bank Limited, Mr Alex Kwasi Awuah, commended the board for the fore- sight and hard work that had brought the bank to the limelight”.
The Board Chairman, Larry Kwesi Jiagge, described the decision to put up the structure as a difficult one and commended the past directors for conceiving the idea.
The General Manager, Mr Isaac Amo Baning, said expressed confidence in the board and staff and called for prudent measures to protect the interest of both shareholders and customers for their economic empowerment.
