Paul Joseph Amoah won the Ghana’s Fastest Human (Accra heats) held at the El-wak Sports Stadium on Saturday.
The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) sponsored event saw the promising athlete win the race ahead of the current fastest human, Shadarack Opoku Agyemang who settled for second position.
Desmond Aryee settled for the third position in the exciting seniors’ race which got patrons on their feet.
In the ladies seniors’ event, Ida Mensah came from the U-18 category to blow the seniors away to win the event.
She was followed by Kate Agyemang for the second position while Rafia Yakubu settled for the third position in that category.
In the U-18 boys’ event, Samuel Asare finished first while Martinson Yeboah and Daniel Afari settled for the second and third positions respectively.
The female’s event was won by Gifty Oku with Mary Boakye and Emmanuella Aboagye placing second and third in that order.
Francis Abban was the winner in the boys U-15 event followed by Prince Annang for the second position and Salifu Bilal in third.
In the girls category, Jessica Osei came first, Blessing Samuel was second while Beatrice Boakye settled for the third position.
Nathaniel Boadu won the U-10 boys event followed by Justice and Razak Sulley.
The girls U-10 event was won by Charlotte Dadzie while Ekua Anagi and Kate Owusu were second and third in that order.
The grand finale of the event would be held in September at Kumasi where the best short distance runners in the country would be competing for the ultimate prize.
