The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has for the third time donated assorted food items worth GHc 5,000, to-in patients of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital yesterday.

The items included four bags of onions, two bags of salt, two bags of pepper, two cartoons of fresh tomatoes, two bags of okro and one basket of smoked fish.

Presenting the items, Mr. Adjebu Lamptey, Chairman of AMA Social Services, reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to providing the hospital with more food items.

Mr. Emmanuel Pappoe, Deputy Director of Nursing Services, said the donation would improve the nutrition of in-patients, and appealed to philanthropists to donate more food items to the health facility.

He said the hospital would soon admit new patients because there is abundant food to feed the more than 500 in-patients
