Al Ahly Overtake Milan For Most Titles

Al-AhlyConfederation of African Football CAF has announced that the Egyptian giants Al Ahly have overtaken the Italian powerhouse AC Milan as the club with the most internationally recognized titles.

Many in the Italian media asked AC Mailan to remove the sentence ” Il Club Piu Titolato Al Mondo ” that means ” The Most Successful Club in the World” from their kits after the Egyptian side Al Ahly exceeded their number of 18 titles after they won the African Super Cup last week giving them title number 19.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani had said they will ask FIFA to verify Al Ahly titles before making the suggested modification.

CAF president Issa Hayatou has congratulated the Cairo based team. “Congratulations to Ahly on this historic achievement. CAF is proud of this record that puts Africa on the world map yet again.” Hayatou said on the CAF website.

“This is a positive sign that African football has come of age and it will encourage other clubs to do more,” Hayatou added.
