Nana Akufo-AddoThe New Patriotic Party   (NPP) presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo has promised to run a clean and issue-based campaign ahead of the 2016 general election.

Nana Akufo-Addo said the era when a campaign was run on insults should be a thing of the past.

Speaking at a special thanksgiving service in Accra, Nana Addo said all party members must work together to ensure the NPP wins the 2016 election.

“We must translate the hard work, the passion of the internal battles to the 2016 parliamentary and presidential elections. I promise I’ll provide the leadership. I’ll listen and work hard. Let us agree to work with each other. Let us believe the fundamental truth that we are all working for the same goal, to win the elections and put the NPP administration in place to govern this country.”

Nana Akufo-Addo cruised to victory with 94.35per cent of votes during the party’s national delegates congress, while his closest opponent Alan Kyeremanteng only managed a 4.75 per cent.
