Maureen Akuaku emerged winner of the Coca-Cola family day golf tournament held at the Celebrity Golf Club on Saturday.
She recorded a net score of 70 to win the Ladies Group A event and walked away with a trophy and other attractive souvenirs from sponsors. She was followed by Naomi Addo who had 81 net score for the second position while Juliet Tuakli settled for the third position with a score of 84.
The overall Men Group A event was won by Li DeXiang with an impressive score of 68 while Wang Shu and Mike Xhang came second and third respectively with net scores of 68 and 69 in that order.
The event also saw junior golfers participating in a nine hole event which saw Nick Zhang winning the boys event with 53 points.
He was followed by Emile Kumi with 62 points for the second position while Dillan Dadson came third with 63 points.
The girls’ event saw Aseda Wilson on top while Xan Dadson held her own to clinch the second position.
There were other prizes including Longest Drive (Men) which went to Teye Lartey while the Longest Drive (Ladies) was won by Dr. Juliet Tuakli.
The Nearest to the Pin prize (Men) was won by Yang Lin while Maureen Akuaku clinched the Nearest to the Pin (Ladies) award.
The Captain of Celebrity Golf Club, Francis Akwasi Opoku, praised the golfers and families for coming on board to ensure a successful 2015 edition of the event.
He also thanked sponsors including Holiday Inn,Tang Palace Hotel,Coca-Cola and Star Lite for their support and called for such collaborations to promote golf in the country.
