Airtel Ghana has teamed up with a host of celebrities to raise funds in support of breast cancer awareness.
The company’s employee-driven initiative, dubbed Airtel Catwalk for Charity,’ was a month-long campaign to sensitize the public on breast cancer.
In an event to climax the campaign, Hannah Agbozo, the Legal & Corporate Affairs Director, said the employees initiative was to support breast cancer education and treatment and other causes are the communities.
“Airtel is committed to creating awareness and combating breast cancer. But there’s still a lot to be done and we encourage many more people to join us for this truly worthy cause,” she urged
The ceremony was graced by radio and TV personalities as well as musicians who offered support to the company’s fight against breast cancer
Last year, Airtel Ghana supported the Sweden Ghana Medical Cancer Foundation and The Judith Ellen Awuah Darko Foundation with funds raised through employee donations.
This year’s event saw the employees embarking on a social media campaign, dubbed “AirtelCares; a-call-to-action” for customers and Ghanaians in general to be assertive in the awareness and prevention of breast cancer in Ghana.
