Airtel Ghana has partnered AeroMobile, a global leader in airborne connectivity, to introduce in-flight roaming services for its post-paid customers.
The service, first of its kind in Ghana, would afford customers to stay connected with family, friends and business partners on board any plane with AeroMobile connections anywhere in the world.
Additionally, it would enable Airtel post-paid customers to make phone calls, txt, send multimedia messages and access their favourite social media platforms during their flights.
Currently, Airtel has the widest roaming coverage in over 170 countries and has partnerships with more than 400 network operators globally. This gives Airtel customers the unique advantage of staying in touch around the world.
Commenting on the offer, Rosy Fynn, Marketing Director of the company said as a business Airtel’s number one priority was to delight its customers by going beyond providing just telecom solutions to include lifestyle offerings.
“Through extensive engagements, we are aware that customers want to stay in touch without boundaries anywhere in the world. Over the years we have responded to this need by providing the widest roaming services through our extensive network of partners to ensure customers remain connected across 170 countries,” she said.
The AeroMobile service, available above 20,000 feet and during the cruise phase of the flight, enables customers to use voice, SMS, MMS and data services.
Since launch over 38 million passengers have connected to the in-flight network to send and receive over 51million SMS, use more than 1.7million call minutes and over 1.6 million MBs of data.
