Agyeman- Badu Gets The Captain’s Band

emmanuel-agyemang-baduMIDFIELDER Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has been handed the Ghana armband for today’s crucial qualifier against Togo in Tamale Stadium.

The Udinese player will have to stand-in as leader of the team with Andre Ayew injured and ruled out of final Group E clash.

Agyemang-Badu was handed the armband when Ayew was replaced in the second half of Ghana’s 1-0 defeat to Uganda in Kampala last week.

He is one of the most capped players of the current crop who were invited for the double header this month.

In another development, the Black Stars paid a courtesy call on Gulikpe Naa Alhaji Alhassan ahead of today’s deciding 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Togo.

The local chief donated a bull and 100 tubers of yam as well as 25 shiny smocks to the team.

Gulikpe Naa Alhaji Alhassan also promised to mobilise spiritual support for the team ahead of the match

Meanwhile,the Black Stars players will make donations to two orphanages in Tamale ahead of the crucial 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Togo on Wednesday.

The players agreed on their own accord decided to contribute unspecified amounts for the charity work.

Donations have been a ritual for the senior national team in recent times and want to continue.

Ghana must avoid defeat against Togo to secure qualification to the 2015 finals in Equatorial Guinea.

The Black Stars lost their last match 1-0 to Uganda in Kampala.
