According to him, even though Togbe Afede has been named as a member of the newly constituted and inaugurated economic committee of the party, it did not necessarily mean he has been a member of the NDC.
The ruling NDC on Tuesday inaugurated a number of committees to help in the running of the party.
The committees have membership drawn from Parliament including defeated candidates at the party’s last congress.
Key among the committees is the Economic Committee which would be chaired by Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, Finance Minister, Seth Terkper, the CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Sylvester Mensah and the Agbogbomefia, Togbe Afede XIV.
The other committees are the Communications Committee, Election Committee, and Social Services Committee.
Although Togbe Afede XIV has reportedly declined the invitation to serve on the newly formed committee, Kofi Adams on Adom FM on Wednesday said the party still believes in his economic ideology and thus would be appealing to him to change his mind.
He insisted that the committee’s mandate will be for the benefit of the whole nation, not just the interest of the NDC.
“The various committees we have set, as a party, is for the economic development of the country and not the NDC. We would love him to be in the committee though he is not a card bearing member, but his decision to accept the invitation will depend on him,” he noted. -myjoyonline
