The Founder of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, yesterday reported himself to the Tema Regional Police Headquarters after being invited for questioning on a video circulating on social media to the effect that he flogged two members of his Church.
He reported to the Police Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) with his lawyer and two other pastors, who were also invited by the police.
Bishop Obinim arrived few minutes after 10am in a multi-coloured suit, accompanied by other pastors, his television crew and friends and sympathisers.
However, a resident pastor for the Tema Church failed to show up.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Tema Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Juliana Obeng told The Ghanaian Times that Bishop Obinim was cautioned for physical abuse and transferred to the National Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Police Headquarters in Accra for further interrogation.
Bishop Obinim was invited for allegedly lashing two of his congregants, whom he claimed to be his adopted children for engaging in fornication.
