Afotey-Agbo Fetes With IBN

The  Volta Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Kpone-Katamanso (MP) on Sunday joined soldiers at the Michel Camp near Tema, as a guest of honour at their quarterly military parade where they engaged in inter-religious and inter-denominational service to seek God’s guidance for the work of the military.

The routine exercise meant to foster the bond of unity among the soldiers was also used to offer special prayers for soldiers at the camp who are to be deployed on a peacekeeping mission to Congo.

Nii Afotey-Agbo praised the soldiers for their commitment and dedication to the course of the nation and the bond of friendship existing among the soldiers.

As the MP for the area, Nii Afotey –Agbo took the opportunity to enumerate some of the plans and projects he has initiated to support the unit from the share of his District Assembly Common Fund.

Nii Afotey-Agbo donated GH¢2,000 as his support towards a church building for the soldiers at the camp while pledging a sum of GH¢10,000 to help renovate the officer’s mess at the camp.

The MP has also supported the completion of two buildings to be used for the Infor-mation and Communication Technology (ICT) centres for the educational institutions in the camp and promised to commit more resources to furnish the centre with computers and furniture to make it operational.

He has earmarked an amount of GH¢150,000 from his share of the common fund for the projects.

Nii Afotey-Agbo promised to liaise with the Department of Urban Roads to fix the roads in the camp which has been a source of concern to the soldiers at the camp.
