Aduana Stars were a delight to watch as they humbled Medeama 2-0 in the ongoing GHALCA G6 tournament, at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
The scoreline meant a lot to the fans of Accra Hearts of Oak, who danced to the fact that their idol club is back into the tournament after losing to Aduana and drawing with Medeama.
Fifteen minutes into the game, Derrick Sasraku opened the scoreline for Aduana with a powerful header from a dream corner kick.
Medeama, now out of the competition, accepted the challenge and pushed men forward but could not penetrate the watertight backline of Aduana, centered around Wahab Adams and Yakubu Mohammed.
Medeama’s midfield broke down as thier talisman, Kwasi Donsu was played out of the game, allowing Aduana to dictate the pace.
Aduana grew more in confidence, especially in the second half with their sweet-flowing and inter-positional passes.
Medeama brought on Benjamin Bature to beef up the attacking machinery.
Bature’s inclusion changed the game’s pattern as he pumped more heat, but all the onslaughts were thwarted by the rear guards.
Bright Adjei drove a shot which saw Samuel Adade scoring an own goal in the 54th minute which sealed the doom of Medeama.
In the 82nd minute, Akwasi Donsu hit the crossbar from a free kick, while Aduana’s Bright Adjei watched in amazement as his shot hit the post three minutes earlier.
