Adu Ameyaw: DCE stifling devt

Nana Adu Ameyaw II, the Paramount Chief of Effiduase in the Ashanti Region, has expressed his disappointment about the District Chief Executive for Effiduase-Asokore over claims she is impervious to development in the town.

He accused Mary Boatemaa Marfo, the District Chief Executive of developing Asokore and neglecting Effiduase saying “we agreed with the assembly that national events, which are celebrated locally are split under the two towns which are Effiduase and Asokore, but Madam Boatemaa has directed that all events go to Asokore which is not supposed to be so.

“The District Chief Executive is less concerned about happenings in the district as far as growth and development is concerned, she is not doing anything for Effiduase and not bringing development projects to the town, we have a lot of children in the town who have qualified for scholarships but our District Chief Executive has refused to process them despite several appeals,” Nana Ameyaw bemoaned.

He lauded Dr Ayew Afriyie, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, for his immense support and assistance to the town and explained that the MP sometimes had to use his personal money for projects in the town just because the District Chief Executive was refusing to process needed documents for the assembly to embark on such projects.

“There has been tension between the Member of Parliament and the District Chief Executive for months now which is unfortunate and hampering growth and development and stifling livelihoods, we appeal to the president and the Regional Minister to help us, we are lacking growth and development in our district,” Nana Ameyaw lamented.

Efforts to contact Madam Boatemaa for her version proved futile. -adomonline.com
