Adopt culture of saving …Afro-Arab FC boss tells sportsmen

The Chief Executive Officer of Afro Arab Football Club, Alhaji Salam Amadou has advised all sportsmen, especially footballers to cultivate the habit of saving money to ensure a secured future for themselves and their dependants.

“This is the surest way to live a decent life with families and other relations after hanging your boots.”

Inaugurating a new office complex at Kokomlemle in Accra, the young business magnate said it was unfortunate footballers, especially, earn so much in their active days but saves little or nothing at all, leaving them with nothing to fall on after retirement.

“As a businessman and sports consultant, I have had the privilege to deal with many of such issues. Many times, some of the sports men resort to begging for alms to survive.”

He continued; ‘that certainly is not the way to go. The truth is that sports is now a business and players receive salaries for what they do, therefore it is important to think about saving from the little you earn.’

The Three-storey edifice also houses his Real Estate, Travel and Tour and Micro Finance Company which he hopes to use to champion the course of sports men.

Welcoming the guests, Ibrahim Saani Daara, a board member of the Company and Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association commended the young CEO for creating jobs for the youth.

He embraced the idea of reaching out to sportsmen and women to get them to save to make their future brighter.

The event was attended by the National Chief Imam, Dr. Nuhu Sharubutu aided by other Muslim clerics including Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu and a section of sports lovers including some members of the third tier soccer club of Afro Arab FC.
