The chiefs and people of Adjen Kotoku in the Ga West Municipality, on Saturday, celebrated their annual Homowo festival with pomp and pageantry.

A retinue of sub-chiefs and traditional leaders were led by Okromansah Nii Tackie Amoah VI, Adjen Kotoku Mantse and Supreme Head of Nii Djan Bi Amu royal family of Otublohum and Danchira, to sprinkle “Kpokpoi”, the traditional food, through out the town.

Okromansah Tackie Amoah in a speech later, commended the government for bringing massive development to the area, mentioning the new market, the new police station, health centre, senior high school and a fire tender provided for the Ghana Fire Service.

He, however, appealed to the government to pay compensation to the families who gave out their lands for the development projects.

Okromansah Tackie Amoah also lauded his sub-chiefs, particularly Nii Asamani, (the Stool father), Nii Adade (Mankralo), and Nii Obuobi (Shikpi) for assisting him to bringing peace, discipline, and development to the people of the area.
