The Ghana Cricket Association (GCA) in collaboration with the Central Regional Cricket Association is organizing the “1st Adisadel/Mfantsipim Cricket Challenge 2016” today at the Adisadel School Park.
The two schools have been pioneers in the game of cricket among the Senior High Schools in the region and are ready to pitch their strength against each other in that light.
Both schools have played the game at their respective inter-house competitions recently and selected a full strength side for this competition.
Hamlyn House defeated Le-Maire House in the finals of the cricket game at Adisadel College, while Freeman Aggrey House accounted for Abruquah-Monney House in Mfantsipim School.
Vice president of the GCA, Mr. Kwame Asare, said his outfits plan was to re-introduce the game right from the basic level and inculcate it into the youth at a very tender age.
“We have started to re-introduce the game at the primary and Junior Secondary School level and after this competition we would shift focus to the lower level school throughout the region.”
Apart from the pride at stake between the two schools in terms of supremacy on the field of play, there would be a giant trophy donated by GCA with the MOBA 1977 Year Group supporting with funds.
Mr. Asare also disclosed that executives of the Association would be at the Akwamuman Senior High School to have their first-ever Inter-House Cricket competition.
