The Adentan Municipal Assembly on Wednesday launched a website to open up its activities to the public.
The site, adma.gov.gh has links to the operations of the various departments on social accountability services and projects being undertaken by the assembly.
It also has profile of the assembly, the mission and vision statement, core values as well as mode of payments on services rendered to its clients.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Benjamin Angenu, said the website, was established to facilitate communication between the assembly and the people to enhance development.
He said the busy schedule of the residents had made it impossible for the assembly to have a ‘one on one’ communication in times of need, hence the decision to have a website that would serve as the closest link among the two parties.
“The site will enable the residents to sit in the comfort of their homes and let the assembly know their heart desires,” he said.
Mr. Angenu said that this would prevent residence from travelling long distances to make payment to the assembly
He said the assembly had entered into partnership with Zenith Bank for online payment transactions, while the site for development projects would offer residents the opportunity to lodge complaints on the springing up of unapproved development in their communities.
The Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Isaac Djamgme Vanderpuiye, said because Adentan has become a cosmopolitan community, every avenue should be created to enable the residents to pay active role in the day to day administration of the area.
