The initiative, which seeks to involve the youth across the country in the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, drew students from Ada Secondary Technical Institute, Ada Technical Institute and Ada Senior High School.

They were joined by other schools and members of Christ Embassy Church in the event dubbed, “The Future Leaders Conference.”

According to the President of the Advocacy and Volunteerism Agency, Mr. Stephen Selasie Asuo, the event was to equip the youth to become the driving force for the achievement of the SDGs.

”The Rally for Goals (Global Goals PR) has made a strong statement to government and development agencies that the youth would play a leading role as far as achievement of the Goals by 2030 is concerned,” he stated.

Mr. Asuo, who gave a presentation on the 17 SDGs to the students, solicited their commitment to serve as agents towards the achievement of the goals, particularly those that focus on elimination of extreme poverty, inequality or social injustice and climate change.

He tasked them to take the goals seriously as the campaign has a global impact with the same opportunities as their counterparts all around the world.

As part of the event, the student groups pledged their support for the campaign.
