The battle for supremacy still rages as the CAL Bank Beach Soccer League produced an enthralling 47 goals in the week four fixtures of the competition at the La Beach Soccer Arena last Saturday.
Tagged as ‘game of the week’ was the match between two-time champions Sunset Sports and the defending champions Havedzi Mighty Warriors.
Both teams came into the game with no defeat in their first three matches of the season and were seeking to get an early advantage over each other amidst talks of both challenging for the crown this season. But it was Sunset Sports who emerged as winners of the game as they manage to beat their regional rivals 2-1.
Another top tie on the list was the match between Ada Assurance and Winneba Giants as the Ada-based side continued with their fine performance in the competition with an unblemished record this season, demolishing Winneba Giants 10-2 last Saturday.
The Ada Assurance now lead the league table with 12 points and 17 goals.
After loosing their third game of the season against Ada Assurance, African Angels came back strongly to whip struggling Nima BSC 6-0.
Another game that that drew lots of interest was the match between Gulf Power and Tema United.
Gulf Powers took control of the game right from the beginning to the end as they beat the Tema-based side 6-2 to keep their hopes of winning the championship alive.
In the other matches, Nungua BSC beat Layoca BSC 5-2 and Dansoman BSC drew 2-2 with Wuo Gbee. Golden Eagles also drew 2-2 with Tebgi Youth while Sea Lions managed to beat Teshie United 2-1.
