The donation worth about GHC 3,000, included yams, onions, canned fish, toiletries, cloth, sachet water, wheel barrow and shovels.
Presenting the items, Mr. Theophilus Neequaye Djane Magoah, Chairman of the group, said “We have embarked on many activities such as clean up exercises in communities and other hospitals.”
He said the group, decided to make the donation following media reports about challenges facing the hospital.
Mr. Magoah said the donation was not politically motivated and that “we have been undertaking many projects not in election years since the group was formed in 1992, but this one just happened to have occurred in a political season”, he said.
He said: “Apart from supporting NDC, we formed this association to inculcate in the youth values of discipline and hard work, and appealed to Ghanaians to ensure peace during the up-coming polls.
Receiving the items, Miss Anyami Anne Aswome, a Senior Staff nurse at the hospital, commended the club for its support, and urged individuals and organisations to assist the health institution.
