Accra Old Stars wallop Street Academy …to win special Indece Cup

Accra Old Stars recorded an emphatic 3-0 win over Street Academy alumni on Saturday to mark this year’s edition of a special friendly series between the two sides at the Hearts Park in Accra.

Two goals from Robert Yaw Boye and Isaac Mensah in the first half and a third from Nathaniel Nunoo in the second half saw the oldies lift the coveted trophy on display.

Former Black Stars Captain Awuley Quaye who won the Cup of Nations for keeps with the Black Stars in 1978 and former Great Olympics stalwart, Eric Kodi were among former Stars that graced the occasion to support the initiative.

The game is an annual event that brings the old stars comprising retired footballers and retired sportsmen closer to students of the Street Academy as well as the community.
