OSA_0814Members of the Accra-Keta-Anloga branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) at Tudu in Accra, have re-elected Mr. Rolex Agbey Miheso (aka Honesty) as its chairman.

Other re-elected officers were, Mr. Christian K. Doe, vice chair, Mr. George Egar, secretary, Mr. Gabriel Adablah, first trustee and Mr Christian Afatsawu, second trustee.

The executives would steer the affairs of the union for the next four years.

The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the GPRTU, Mr. Emmanuel Nii Ankrah, who described the election process as one of the most peaceful in the region, urged members to promote unity for the progress of the union.

He advised them to guard against political party activists, who might attempt to lure them to cause trouble during the December 7 elections.

“You must know the type of people who hire your vehicles to political campaigns in order not to become victims of circumstances”, Mr Miheso said.

He commended the members for the confidence reposed in them, and assured that everything would be done to maintain the top position among the driver unions in the region.

Mr. Miheso indicated that the union officers would intensify their supervisory roles to ensure that vehicles of members were road worthy, to avoid unnecessary accidents.

He appealed to the members to carry out their work peaceful, and to avoid violent conduct during the elections.
