The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP), will soon make payments to 90,785 beneficiary households under the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty Programme (LEAP).

The payments, covering January and February, the 35th manual and ninth E-payment cycle of the LEAP social cash grants will benefit 144 districts across the country.

A statement issued by the Communications Advisor of the Ministry, Abraham Asare, in Accra yesterday, said a one member household would receive GH¢48, while households with two eligible members would receive GH¢60 and households with three and four eligible beneficiaries getting GH¢72 and GH¢ 90 respectively.

LEAP, according to the statement, was introduced to support extremely poor households to meet their very basic needs for survival.

The statement said officials of the MGCSP and the Department of Social Welfare would be on the field to monitor the payments.
