The Koforidua Circuit Court “B” presided by Ms Mercy Adei Kotei has remanded nine suspects for human trafficking.
The plea of the suspects was not taken and they are to re-appear in court on May 8, this year.
The suspects were arrested during a police raid to rescue some 24 children suspected to have been trafficked to Adrekpota, a fishing community in the Afram Plains of the Eastern Region.
Prosecution said that 16 of the children, whose ages ranged between five and 13 years, were rescued and doing well.
The court heard that the suspects were arrested to assist in investigation. –GNA
