A total of 70,407 National Service personnel have been deployed to various institutions across the country for the 2016/17 service year.
About 30,000 personnel are to be posted by the secretariat in due course.
A statement signed by the acting Executive Director, Dr Michael Kpessa-Whyte and copied The Ghanaian Times said graduates from 137 tertiary institutions across the country and those who have completed their studies abroad were posted.
According to the statement, the early release of the postings was to afford prospective service personnel sufficient time to prepare before they take up their postings later in September this year.
It said the early release was also to offer user agencies sufficient time to organise in-service orientation and training programmes for service personnel posted to their outfits, to adequately prepare them both physically and psychologically to take up the challenges as they transit from school life into the world of work.
The statement advised all prospective national service personnel to visit the scheme’s website, www.nss.gov.gh to check their placements and begin the registration process which commences on July 11 and ends on August 26 this year at all National Service regional offices across the country.
The statement further said that management would not encourage change of posting and therefore urged all prospective National Service personnel to be prepared to accept their placements as part of their civic responsibilities towards building a prosperous nation.
