Seven people sustained injuries when a four-storey building they were working on at Weija, near Accra, collapsed last Thursday.
The victims, who were taken to the Police Hospital at about 4 p.m., were later discharged.
Another victim, said to be in a critical condition, was referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
The cause of the accident was still not known at the time of filing this report but Assistant Superintendent of Police Kwesi Kwarteng in-charge of crime at the Weija Police Station, told The Ghanaian Times that municipal engineers were investigating the cause of the incident.
He said no arrests had been made, as the owner of the building went into hiding.
ASP Kwarteng said the police later called the owner on phone only to learn that he was about to board a flight at the Kotoka International Airport for the USA.
He said the police would get to the bottom of the matter and apply the appropriate sanctions.
The Ghanaian Times on getting to the scene at 11.45 a.m., found that the entrance of the collapsed storey building had been barricaded by the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).
