The Police Administration has commenced in vestigations into the alleged involvement of seven police personnel in the corruption scandal that that rocked the country’s judiciary and some security agencies in Anas exposé.
The personnel were identified as Seth Ahelegbe, prosecutor at the Takoradi Circuit Court, Inspector Anku from Cape Coast Circuit Court, Apronti a prosecutor at Mpraeso, Balla, prosecutor, Akropong, Appiah — Odomase Court, and a police woman from Cape Coast with only her picture.
Commissioner of Police (COP) Prosper Kwame Agblor, the Director General of the of Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, told The Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday, the names and photographs of the police officers, mostly Court prosecutors were captured on the video.
“An allegation has been made and we have to also hear from them during these investigations and depending on the evidence gathered, a docket would be sent to the Attorney-General for prosecution,” he said.
It is alleged that 15 police and prison officers are involed in the Judiciary bribery scandal that has hit the nation in recent time.
Their names and photographs have been forwarded to the relevant institutions for the necessary action to be taken against them.
