6th Japan Ambassador Karate champs ends

The sixth Japan Ambassador Karate Championships has been held.

The event climaxed this year’s weeklong Japan week’s celebration.

Team Virgin Dragons emerged winners of the championship in the overall team classification.

There were two main categories: Kara and Kumite, which were further, divided into age weight divisions for both children (below 18years) and seniors (18years and above).

In the seniors’ category, Dickson Acolatse won the 60kg ahead of Patrick Amakye in the 67kg with Emmanuel Agyei clinching the title in the 75kg.

Humu Yusif Zeba was inspirational with a superior control in the female seniors.

The Japanese Ambassador’s Karate championship has been an integral event in the Japan Yosakoi festival and has attracted the attention of many.
